May 12- Mother’s Day breakfast at the Greenville Firehouse from 8 a.m. to noon. All-you-can-eat for $8/adults and $5/kids under 12.May 13- An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 1-6 p.m. at the Cairo Town Hall, 512 Main Street in Cairo.May 17- The 9th annual Senior Citizens’ Day, sponsored by the Greene County Department of Human Services, will be held at the Freightmaster’s Building at Historic Catskill Point, 1 Main Street in Catskill from 12-4 p.m. Robert Hoagland of Tannersville, the 2019 Senior Citizen of the Year, and Peggy Snyder of Athens, winner of the Outstanding Contribution by a Senior Citizen, will be honored. A boxed lunch will be served. You must RSVP by signing up at your area senior nutrition site or by calling (518) 719-3555. If you need transportation, you can request that when you make your reservation.- The Greene County Cruisers will hold a cruise night in the Walmart parking lot in Catskill at 5 p.m. The evening includes music and food. They will be collecting for a 14-year-old Catskill girl who is fighting cancer.May 18- When Johnny Comes Marching Home, a musical celebration of Cairo’s hometown heroes and all veterans, presented by the Cairo Historical Society, will be held at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 186 Main Street in Cairo at 2 p.m. The 77th Regimental Balladeers and the Resurrection Lutheran Church choir and bell ringers will perform. Tickets are $10, half price for period dress. Seating is limited. Call 518-821-3852 or email CairoHistSociety@yahoo.com for advance tickets.- An Earth Day celebration will be held at Riverside Park, 1 Betke Boulevard in Coxsackie from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. There will be live music, local gardeners and farmers, plants and trees for sale, solar companies, a fishing contest, face painting, yoga and Zumba classes, vendors, and much more.- An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Cornell Hook and Ladder Fire Company, 77 Gill Road in New Baltimore.- A health and fire safety day will be held at Cornell Hook and Ladder Fire Company, 77 Gill Road in New Baltimore from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. There will be demos, medication take-back, fire extinguisher training, apparatus and equipment displays, vendors and refreshments. This event is free and open to the public.- Rensselaerville's Annual Garage Sale Day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information please contact Rose Kuhar at 518-797-3360. If no record is shown, your pet will be given a one-year vaccination. Please call 518-719-3600 if you are bringing a ferret or have any questions.
